The Team

Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Danae is a passionate mental health counselor whom believes in living out your one wild and precious life. Trained in a variety of person centered and evidence based practices, Danae considers herself a general talk therapist who can pull from a variety of models and interventions to aid in your therapy experience. Danae works with youth 12 and up, couples and families. Danae graduated from Western Washington University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and obtained her Master’s in Psychology Counseling from Saybrook University. Having a wide range of experiences working with individuals in the helping fields both in community and private settings adds to the breadth of issues and concerns Danae is able to help with.

In her off time, Danae enjoys being with family, is an avid reader and audiobook listener, excellent cook, some times does yoga, winter sport participant, boats (fast and slow), backpacker, concert goer, word maker upper, traveler and novice violin player.

Jenai was also born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and thinks there is no better place on earth.  Jenai believes that therapy is a deeply personal journey and is committed to helping people discover their authentic selves and live the best lives they are capable of. 

 Jenai obtained a dual Bachelor’s in Psychology and Sociology and then obtained her Master’s of Science in Psychology at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio.  Since then, Jenai has spent the past 17 years working as a counselor and social worker for a Native American tribe and Family Protective Services.  Jenai can offer brief Solution-Focused therapy if you only have a couple of short-terms goals you wish to accomplish, or she can also help you take the deep dive into your history, attachments, and trauma using Attachment and Jungian therapies.  Jenai practices telehealth only. 

 Jenai is part of the local LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent community.  In her time off, Jenai and her daughter play games, listen to new music, and do art projects together.  Jenai also loves spending time in green spaces and journaling.

Bridgette Graham, MA, LMHC (she/her)

Bridgette enjoys living and working in the Pacific Northwest. She comes with strong experience in community mental health and enjoys working with youth 8 years of age and up and adults. Bridgette is certified in trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectial behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy and is also working on a sex therapy certification. Bridgette likes to work from several different frameworks and cares about starting from a person centered approach that is “cozy.” Bridgette works with a wide range of concerns including adoption, eating disorders, dual diagnosis and trauma.

Although born and raised a Texan, Chris has always dreamed of being a therapist in the Pacific Northwest far, far away from that Texas sun. They hung around the South long enough to gain a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas A&M before packing up their three cats and one dog to move to rainy Bellingham. Currently they are pursuing a Masters of Arts in Mental Clinical Health from Adams State University in Colorado via online classes. They are open to working with anyone 12 and up including families and couples.

Chris loves to spend their free time with their future wife and four furry children trekking around the country. They are an avid reader, anime fan, and video game connoisseur. They are a member of the LGBTQ+ and autistic community, and a strong advocate for both. 

Hagit Shekel, MA, LMHCA (she/her)

Hagit was born in Israel and has been living in the USA for 22 years, 14 years of which are in the the Pacific Northwest. She began her education at Bar Ilan University in Israel obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and then later a graduate degree in Administration and Public policy. Hagit’s second graduate degree was completed in Clinical Mental Health counseling at Antioch University in Seattle.

She has a breadth of experiences in various counseling fields that contributed to her professional approach including:

- The Rehabilitation Department within Israel Defense Administration working with disabled and bereaved families.

- As a social worker for a municipal Social Welfare department with families in need.

- Clinical counseling at the JFCS in Seattle

- Branch manager of an Israel/US crisis line - Eran

Today, Hagit is an individual clinical therapist who works with adults and youth ages 12 and older. Hagit specializes in anxiety, depression, relationships within the family and interpersonal relationships.

 Outside work, Hagit spends time with her family, enjoys sports and outdoor activities and appreciates having coffee time with friends.

Laura Parker, LMHCA (she/her)

Laura was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky, and explored living in various parts of the country, including Key West and New York City, before settling into the PNW as her preferred home. 

Laura believes individuals flourish when they feel heard, understood, respected, and safe. Her approach to counseling is collaborative, strength-based, non-judgmental, empathetic, client-centered, attachment-focused, and trauma-informed. As a counselor, Laura is passionate about helping individuals explore themselves, adjust behaviors, improve relationships, work through and learn from past experiences and develop healthy coping mechanisms that all serve as the foundation for healthy lives. She enjoys working with adolescents 15 years of age and up, adults, and couples dealing with life transitions, identity exploration, conflict, grief & loss, and general life challenges. 

When Laura is not practicing counseling, she enjoys painting, family time, creating, and constantly learning through books, podcasts, and life experiences.

Emily Katsanis, M.Ed., LMHCA (she/her)

A born and bred Washingtonian, Emily’s approach to therapy is one that is tailored to the individual and their unique life experiences. Emily received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Washington University and her graduate degree in school counseling from Seattle University. Emily started her mental health career as an elementary school counselor before realizing that talk therapy and watching clients make long-term growth is what she is truly passionate about.

As a therapist, Emily specializes in helping children, preteens, and young adults work through anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. She believes that the key to success in therapy is providing genuine, unconditional positive regard for clients and authentically listening to and caring about their lived experiences. Emily is currently accepting new clients aged 10 and up.

When she is not counseling, Emily enjoys collecting plants, going on walks, creating art, and spending time with her husband and cat.

Liz Williams, M.S.W, LSWAIC, (she/her)

Liz ‘s roots are in rural places, mountain towns in Montana and Alaska. She obtained a BA in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Montana in Missoula. She is finding Bellingham a welcoming space to grow at this stage of life and enjoys all the PNW has to offer. She is constantly outside hiking with her dog or on a boat whenever possible.

 

Her experience with broader systems as a social worker include psychiatric emergency services, community mental health and substance use rehabilitation informs her person-centered, trauma-informed efforts in the therapy space. Liz’s approach to therapy is warm and highly relational, drawing from multiple evidenced based therapeutic approaches.

 

Liz believes therapy should be highly adaptable to each individual and not one size fits all. She is focused on supporting adult clients experiencing various mental and behavioral health needs, with a particular fondness for folks hoping to improve their self image, explore coping for anxiety and stress, process developmental trauma, address relationship concerns and enact desired behavior changes. Liz hopes to empower you through whatever shifts life brings your way and encourage you on the path that is uniquely your own.
